Are you tired of being a short order cook because everyone in the household follows a different diet?  Whether your heart healthy, vegetarian, low sugar, or gluten free,  here are some solutions!

Snacking

Sugar is the latest nutritional villain, and many snacks are guilty of packing it in.  If you’re watching your sugar intake you’re going to love KIND’s new line of Nuts and Spices bars.  They are naturally low in sugar with 5 or fewer grams of sugar per bar, high in fiber and a good source of protein with between 5 and 7 grams of each.  There’s nothing artificial with all natural ingredients you can say and pronounce.

Flavors:

  • Cashew and Ginger Spice
  • Madagascar Vanilla Almond
  • Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Pecan
  • Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt

Heart Healthy

When you heart heart healthy, you probably think no taste and boring.  Wrong!  To easily make something heart healthy, simply substitute butter with a soft spread like Country Crock.  It has 70% less saturated fat than butter, no trans fat or hydrogenated oil, and it’s delicious!  Check out this vegetarian, gluten free, heart healthy recipe for Zucchini Boats!

Eating Out

When eating out and trying to meet everyone’s needs, look for a place that can customize for you.  Qdoba Mexican Grill makes everything fresh right in front of you so you can customize to fit your needs and preferences.  Go to qdoba.com to build your own menu and see nutritional info as well as allergens.

Every entrée at Qdoba can be ordered as a vegetarian option!  Their black and pinto beans are vegetarian as well as Tortilla Soup and Mexican Gumbo.  Gluten free is as simple as ordering it “naked” without the tortilla.  All salsas and many sauces are gluten free.  You can also mix and match with the Craft 2 menu and get two menu items in any combo for 600 calories or less.
